North of Northern Boulevard it changes again into the small village economies of Sea Cliff, Locust Valley, Bayville and Oyster Bay hamlet, walkable blocks of independent shops, restaurants and marine trades on a seasonal curve. Selling B2B in Plainview and selling a Sea Cliff cafe are different jobs.
Two quirks here trip up almost every site we look at. First, the Massapequas are four names for what most people experience as one place: Massapequa, Massapequa Park, North Massapequa and East Massapequa, and only Massapequa Park is an incorporated village. A business on Sunrise Highway that only ever writes Massapequa is missing the people who identify with the other three, and a business that writes all four in a row reads like spam. The fix is naming the one you are actually in and mentioning the neighbors in ordinary sentences. Second, Farmingdale is split by a county line that nobody outside the area can see. The village of Farmingdale and South Farmingdale are Nassau and in this town, while East Farmingdale is Suffolk and in the Town of Babylon, all sharing the postal name. If you serve one side and not the other, say so on the page, because a customer three minutes away will assume you cover them and be annoyed when you do not. Everywhere else, people search Syosset, Hicksville, Plainview and Bethpage by name and never once type the words Town of Oyster Bay.
